Average value and exported volume moderated in the second week of July

Data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) for the first two weeks of July shows a moderation in the export pace and in the average export value of beef during the second week of the period.

In the first nine business days of the month, Brazil exported 104,194 tons shipment weight of beef at an average value of US$/t 5,536. Isolating the data from the second week of the month, the daily export pace dropped by about 1,000 tons per day to 11,096 tons, while the average value saw its first weekly decline since the last week of May, to US$/t 5,532, a slight adjustment of US$ 9 compared to the average of the first week of the month.
