Exports to the EU rise in both volume and average value
The European Union’s need for beef imports is reflected in increasing shipment volumes from Brazil. In June, according to Secex data, Brazil shipped 2,370 tons of chilled beef and 5,233 tons of frozen beef to the EU. Combined, this represents the second-largest volume in recent years, only behind November’s figures, when Europe stocked up for year-end holiday demand.
The average export value continues to rise, particularly for chilled beef, which averaged US$/t 11,172 in June, the highest in three years. For frozen beef, the average was US$/t 7,405, the highest since February.
In the first half of 2025, Brazil exported 37,485 tons of beef to the EU, an annual increase of 45%. The average value was US$/t 8,165, up 10% from the first six months of 2024.
