Export steer prices up by around 2%

Export steer prices rose by Ar$ 100 per kilo carcass weight —around 2%— after remaining stable for just over a month. Crossbred British-type finished steers are now trading between Ar$ 5,100 and 5,200 per kilo carcass weight, while zebu crossbreeds are selling for Ar$ 4,900 to 5,100.

By contrast, good-quality cows saw a price drop and are now trading between Ar$ 3,800 and 3,950 per kilo carcass weight. Meanwhile, “China cows” (for canning and processing) remained stable compared to the previous week, in the range of Ar$ 2,900 to 3,300 per kilo carcass weight.
