Brazil overtakes Paraguay as Chile’s main beef supplier
In the first five months of 2025, Chile imported 102,370 tons of beef at an average CIF value of US$/t 6,289, according to data from Odepa. The volume rose 2% compared to the same period in 2024, while the average value increased by 13%.
Brazil overtook Paraguay as the main supplier to the Chilean market. So far this year, Chile has received 48,417 tons of beef from Brazil (+32% year-on-year), while imports from Paraguay totaled 42,678 tons, down 14% from the previous year.
