Slaughter drops 5% year-over-year in May, totaling 1.12 million head

Argentina’s beef slaughter in May reached 1.118 million head, down 1.1% from April. Adjusted for working days, daily slaughter was about 53,200 head, a 10.5% drop compared to April's daily average of 59,500 head.

Year-on-year, May saw nearly 59,100 fewer head processed, a 5.0% decline.

Cumulatively, from January to May 2025, total slaughter amounted to 5.46 million head, 1.3% below the 5.53 million recorded in the same period of 2024.
