Highest average export value in over a decade in May
Data released by Senacsa show Paraguayan beef exports totaling 149,509 tons worth US$ 189.2 million, with an average value for the first months of the year of US$ 5,671 per ton (shipment weight).
Monthly data show solid growth both in volume and average value. A total of 32,511 tons were shipped, 6,000 more than in April. The average export value of beef in May was US$ 5,818, the highest since at least 2013 and 3.1% above April’s figure.
Shipments to Chile totaled 10,873 tons at an average value of US$/t 5,979, with a monthly increase of over 1,000 tons and a 2.6% rise in average value. Taiwan and the United States followed, each with nearly 5,000 tons.
