Paraguay secures historic approval to export meat to Singapore

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña announced with satisfaction the opening of the Singapore market to Paraguayan beef, pork, and poultry. This marks a major step forward for the country’s foreign trade, further strengthening its position as a reliable global food supplier. “We are very pleased about the opening of another market for Paraguay, which will benefit all the producers who are making huge investments in this sector,” Peña said.

In an interview with Valor Agro, Senacsa’s Director General of Quality and Food Safety, Julio Barrios, emphasized that this is the first time Paraguay has been granted approval to export meat from all three species. “It’s historic — each species has its own process, and this is very important for everyone,” he noted.

He explained that authorities are currently working on the harmonization of the sanitary certificate for the three species, which would mark the final step in the approval process.
