China close to announcing market opening for Argentine offal

Sources connected to Chinese importers and Argentine exporters say the Asian market’s opening to Argentine bovine offal has already been unofficially approved and is expected to be formally announced during the upcoming visit of China’s customs delegation to Argentina on June 8.

Authorities from both countries recently finalized technical details in China during the Sial trade show, negotiating both the opening for bovine offal and the registration for gallstone exports, as per the protocol signed last March.

Meanwhile, China has been conducting an investigation since late last year to determine whether the increase in beef imports from 2019 through the first half of 2024 has impacted its domestic production.
