Marfrig profit up 40% in first quarter

Marfrig posted a net profit of R$ 88 million (US$ 15.5 million) in the first quarter of the year, up 40.3% compared to the same period last year.

Sales for the quarter reached R$ 38.562 billion (US$ 6.825 billion), a 27% year-on-year increase. Costs rose 27.8%, to R$ 33.919 billion (US$ 6.003 billion). More than 70% of Marfrig’s sales came from its domestic market, where revenues grew 31.6%. Revenue from international operations was up 16.9% year-on-year.

Adjusted EBITDA reached R$ 3.169 billion (US$ 560.8 million), a 20.8% increase year-on-year. The EBITDA margin stood at 8.3%.

As of the end of March, net debt stood at R$ 38.125 billion (US$ 6.747 billion), down 1.8% compared to Q4 2024, according to América Economía.
