Average export value hits highest level in more than two years

The average export value for beef kept climbing in the fourth week of April, reaching its highest mark since early 2023, more than two years ago. Brazil exported 211,548 t of beef up to 26 April at an average FOB price of US$/t 5,021, the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) reported. During the month’s fourth week alone, 52,220 t were shipped at a brisk daily pace of 13,055 t and an average price of US$/t 5,104. One has to go back to the first week of January 2023 to find a higher average export value.

Across April’s first four weeks, the average price stood at US$/t 5,021, topping the US$/t 5,000 reached in January.

The month is on track to close with about 240,000 t shipped abroad, a new record for April.
