Brazil exported 660,700 head of live cattle during the first half of the year, a record and 37% more than in the same period of 2025.
Four destinations accounted for virtually all shipments. Turkey, Morocco, Iraq, and Egypt received more than 98% of Brazil's live cattle exports. Turkey was the main destination with around 285 thousand head, followed by Morocco (210 thousand).
The main exporting states were Pará (55%) and Rio Grande do Sul (28%).
Agrifatto noted that, in terms of domestic supply, live cattle exports still represent a relatively small share. During the first quarter of 2026, the 295,000 head exported were equivalent to 2.87% of cattle slaughter under some form of official inspection, compared with 2.36% in the same period of 2025.
