With 12,728 tonnes of frozen beef exported to China in June, the average FOB value reached record levels, according to Customs export application data. The volume was the highest since last October.
New record prices were achieved for both bone-in and boneless frozen beef. Bone-in products, which totalled 4,200 tonnes, averaged US$/t 4,812, while boneless beef (8,528 tonnes) was exported at an average value of US$/t 7,215, surpassing the US$/t 7,000 threshold for the first time.
Lower beef production and stronger competition from the United States reduced export volumes to China during the first half of the year. Frozen beef exports totalled 67,734 tonnes, 5,000 tonnes less than in the same period of 2025 and 83,000 tonnes below the 2022 peak.
China remained by far the leading destination for both beef offal and bovine stomachs. In June, Uruguay exported 6,474 tonnes of offal (81% of the total) and 721 tonnes of stomachs (55% of the total) to China.
Russia ranked second for offal imports with 457 tonnes, while Ecuador was the second-largest destination for bovine stomachs with 134 tonnes.
