China’s average beef import value jumped 8.1% month-on-month in April to US$6,131/t, according to GACC data.
Most of the beef imported during the first two months of the year had been negotiated in late 2025, before the quota volumes assigned to each supplier became known.
Starting in March, the average import value began to rise, and the trend strengthened further in April as shipments increasingly reflected the higher prices negotiated from the beginning of the year onward, which peaked between late March and early April.
