A trader reported new deals from Uruguay to the Middle East in the sheepmeat segment during the last week, in a market that continues to show demand for these products.
The references reported were US$ 7,600/t for lamb carcasses and US$ 6,300/t for mutton carcasses, values that the Chinese market is currently not paying.
The values confirm that, despite the logistical tensions and regional volatility that affected some Gulf-bound flows weeks ago, there is still room to close specific deals from Uruguay to MENA destinations.
