The US market continues to increase its purchases of Argentine beef at a rapid pace, consolidating itself as the country’s second-largest destination: in April it bought 983 tons of chilled beef and 9,914 tons of frozen beef, for a total close to US$ 90 million.
So far in 2026, the United States has purchased 32,378 tons of Argentine beef, practically one-third of the extraordinary 100,000-ton tariff quota assigned to Argentina by Donald Trump for this year. The figure represents an increase of 123% compared to the first four months of last year (14,540 tons), and nearly four times the volume exported in the same period of 2024 (8,613 tons).
Conversely, frozen boneless beef shipped to China in the first four months reached 74,974 tons, 4% less than in the same period of 2025 (78,013 tons) and almost half the volume purchased in the first four months of 2024 (140,707 tons).
Until last year, Argentina only had a 20,000-ton tariff quota with the United States.
