Total meat production in Brazil is expected to reach 33.38 million tons in 2026, close to the 2025 record, according to Conab projections. Growth will be led by poultry and pork, while beef production is set to decline in line with the cattle cycle turning phase.
Beef production is estimated at 11.3 million tons, down 5.3% year-on-year, although it would remain the second highest in the historical series. Exports are projected at 4.35 million tons, with weaker momentum due to the limitation imposed by the Chinese quota.
Conab estimates are somewhat higher for production compared to those of consultancy Agrifatto included in the previous WBR edition. Agrifatto projected output at 10.62 million tons, while it expects exports to reach 4.91 million tons.
In contrast, pork production would grow nearly 4% to 5.88 million tons, driven by a record herd. Exports are projected at 1.58 million tons (+6.1%), supported by stronger external demand and market openings.
Poultry production would set a record, surpassing 16 million tons, with exports reaching 5.34 million tons (+3.6%). Domestic supply would also increase, in a context of strong sanitary competitiveness compared to other countries, Estadão reported.
