Cattle slaughter up by more than 10 million head in four years

Cattle slaughter in Mercosur countries reached a peak in 2025. Considering activity at export plants in Brazil and Paraguay, along with approved plants in Argentina and Uruguay, more than 48.5 million head were processed last year, up 3.5% from the previous year and 27% above the 2021 low, just four years earlier.
