The Datagro finished male indicator stood at R$/@310.72 in São Paulo in mid-October, remaining stable since the beginning of the month. However, Mato Grosso do Sul recorded the highest price in the country, at R$/@318.13, surpassing São Paulo’s level in recent weeks.
According to Datagro, slaughterhouse bookings have been reduced, although regions with greater feedlot supply maintain more comfortable schedules. In São Paulo, the average booking scale is around 10 days.
In the domestic market, carcass prices show signs of recovery in the São Paulo capital, driven by a slight improvement in demand in the second half of October. Consumption is expected to rise toward the end of the year, supported by Christmas bonuses, holiday celebrations and the start of the vacation period.
On the export front, shipments remain strong, although China—the main buyer of Brazilian beef—has high stock levels after importing record volumes in September. The conclusion of China’s safeguard investigation, expected by the end of November, could influence negotiations, Datagro warned.
