Between January and August 2025, Brazil exported 624.1 thousand head of live cattle, an increase of 16.5% compared to the same period last year, when 561.3 thousand were shipped, according to a survey by Scot Consultoria based on Comex data.
In August, however, shipments totaled 83.1 thousand head, 33.7% less than in the same month of 2024 and also below July, when 87.4 thousand were exported. The reduction reflects weaker demand from the main destinations.
Purchases fell in Turkey (-4.4%), Egypt (-79.4%), Iraq (-59.6%), Lebanon (-41.2%) and Jordan (-47.6%). The major exception was Morocco, which registered a 414.8% increase in purchases compared to August 2024. In addition, countries that had not imported in the same month last year — such as Saudi Arabia, Guyana and Ecuador — made imports in 2025.
