The Brazilian government reported that Azerbaijani health authorities have authorized the import of thermoprocessed poultry, cattle, goat, sheep and swine meat products from Brazil.
Azerbaijan, located in the Caucasus region and with a population of about 10.2 million, has strengthened its trade relations with Brazil in recent years. In 2024, Brazilian exports to the country exceeded US$ 21 million, mainly meat, forest products and other animal-origin goods.
With this new opening, Brazilian agribusiness has accumulated 442 market authorizations since early 2023, covering a total of 72 destinations. The result is the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
