Brazil starts beef exports to Vietnam
Vietnam received last week the first shipment of Brazilian beef: 27 tons of the patinho cut (eye round). The operation marks the effective start of exports, following the market opening announced in March by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
In 2024, the Asian country imported US$ 3.9 billion in agricultural products from Brazil, mainly grains, flours, fibers, and soybeans. With 101 million inhabitants, it represents a strategic and expanding market for Brazilian agribusiness.
Minister Carlos Fávaro stressed that each new destination generates more income for producers and jobs in Brazil. For his part, the Secretary of Foreign Trade, Luís Rua, underlined that this opening adds to more than 430 achieved during this administration and strengthens Brazil’s presence in Asia.
