Uruguay launches new traceability phase focused on geolocation
Nearly 20 years after implementing a mandatory and universal cattle traceability system, Uruguay is taking a new technological step to strengthen this strategic asset. At a press conference held at the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), two projects selected under the “Animal Traceability Challenge” sectoral fund were presented. The initiative, driven by MGAP, INIA, INAC and ANII, aims to move towards real-time geolocation of every tagged animal.
