The value generated from the sale of all products obtained from a Type Steer 2.0 after industrial processing fell by 3.1% in June to US$ 2,049 per head, moving away from the nominal record reached in May. Even so, it was the second-highest value in the series, which began in January 2022.
The May peak was most likely related to the higher share of shipments under the 481 quota that month.
The indicator published monthly by INAC showed mixed trends in its two main components. On the one hand, the cattle value increased by 1.7% month on month, or US$ 28, to US$ 1,646 per animal, setting a new record for the series.
On the other hand, Industrial Value Added (IVA) fell by 19% month on month, or US$ 94, to US$ 403 per animal, its lowest level since March so far in 2026. As a result, IVA’s share declined from 23.5% in May to 20% in June.
