Meat consumption in Germany grows for second year

Per capita meat consumption in Germany grew in 2024, marking two consecutive years of increases. It reached 53.2 kg/person. Chicken showed the strongest growth, rising to 13.6 kg, while pork remained stable with a slight drop of 100 g to 28.4 kg. Beef consumption reached 9.3 kg/person despite the price increases recorded during the year.

In total, meat consumption in 2024 reached 4.44 million tons, 0.8% more than the previous year, according to Eurocarne.
