In the first two months of the year, slaughter fell 2.2%, and females accounted for 46.6%

Looking at the first two months of the year, total slaughter amounted to 2.171 million head, down 2.2% from the same period last year, mainly due to the decrease in cows (especially those with eight or more teeth) and young steers (four teeth). Females accounted for 46.6% of the total in the first two months, compared to 46.9% a year ago.
