Chinese sheepmeat imports increased in June but were 20% lower year on year in the first half of the year.
GACC reported imports of 31,308 tons of sheepmeat in June, valued at US$ 157 million, at an average price of US$ 5,004 per ton. Volume increased by 7.7% year on year and value rose by 39.4%.
In the first half of the year, China imported 169,929 tons of sheepmeat valued at US$ 790 million, with volume down 20.2% and value falling 2.6%.
