Frozen beef exports to the EU up 64% so far this year

While Brazil’s chilled beef exports to the European Union are evolving at volumes similar to last year, shipments of frozen product are growing strongly, while processed beef exports are declining.

According to Secex data, between January and May Brazil exported 7,405 tons of chilled beef, 22,461 tons of frozen beef, and 2,507 tons of processed beef to the EU. While chilled exports remained virtually unchanged year-on-year, frozen shipments rose by 64% and processed beef exports dropped by 38%.

Frozen beef sales to Italy stand out, accounting for 58% of total exports and showing an annual increase of 88%.
