Inversora Juramento, the largest agribusiness company in northwestern Argentina, owner of the country’s largest feedlot and Frigorífico Bermejo, placed negotiable obligations for US$ 30 million at an annual rate of 6.35%, with a 24-month bullet maturity and semiannual interest payments.
When announcing the placement, the company said the capital was aimed at investors interested in supporting its long-term growth process, with the goal of increasing production capacity, expanding exports of packaged beef, and continuing to strengthen its leadership in the retail market for high-quality beef cuts.
According to Inversora Juramento, the offer drew interest from both retail and institutional investors, receiving 1,150 bids totaling US$ 64 million.
The company was founded in 1990 by the Brito family, owners of Banco Macro, one of Argentina’s largest banks. It operates more than 114,000 hectares in Salta, has a cattle herd of 86,000 head, and participates in all stages of the beef chain, from genetics (Brangus and Braford breeds) to silvopastoral breeding and backgrounding, feedlot finishing, processing, and direct sales under the Cabaña Juramento and Bermejo brands, with a network of outlets in Salta, Jujuy, Tucumán, and Buenos Aires.
Earlier this year, an alliance was announced between Inversora Juramento and Gorina at Frigorífico Bermejo, in Salta. The plant has slaughter capacity of 144,000 head per year and recently added a new deboning room, enabling it to cut and package 100% of its production.
