Indonesia has become the second-largest market for Brazilian beef offals less than a year after opening to imports of the product. Between January and May 2026, the Southeast Asian country imported more than 12,000 tons valued at US$ 19.5 million, ranking behind only Hong Kong among the leading destinations for Brazilian beef offals, according to Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The growth highlights the potential of a market with more than 284 million inhabitants, which imported over 70,000 tons of beef offals worth more than US$ 150 million in 2025. For Brazil, the market represents a strategic outlet for products that face weaker demand elsewhere.
During the first five months of 2026, Brazil exported more than 106,000 tons of beef offals to 117 countries, generating revenue of US$ 256 million. In full-year 2025, shipments exceeded 267,000 tons, with export earnings reaching US$ 605 million.
Indonesia approved imports of Brazilian beef offals in August 2025, and since then the number of authorized establishments has increased steadily, reaching 52 plants by January 2026.
The development reflects the growing commercial relationship between the two countries, with Indonesia currently ranking as the eleventh-largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports.
