The average export value of Uruguayan beef reached another record in May, maintaining an uninterrupted upward trend since January this year.
According to Customs data based on export applications, Uruguay exported 25,827 tons in May at an average value of US$/t 8,515. Volume increased by about 6 thousand tons from the previous month, in line with higher production, while the average value rose 4.9% month-on-month and 24% compared to May 2025. This marked the fourth consecutive monthly record for the average export value.
In volume terms, exports continue to run clearly below last year’s levels. In May 2025, exports had exceeded 36 thousand tons.
