In November, Russia became the second largest destination for Brazilian beef with nearly 17 thousand tons (see more under Brazil). A trader explained to WBR that the country’s war with Ukraine creates distortions in the market, as major exporters often close direct deals for entire ship holds that can carry up to 5 thousand tons. It is assumed that this product is destined for the Russian army. “They likely loaded more to secure stock before the ports freeze,” the source told WBR.
