Representatives of the Brazilian multinational JBS visited the Frigonorte plant in Pedro Juan Caballero, Amambay, over the past 15 days, Valor Agro reported.
The presence of the world’s largest protein processor did not go unnoticed and confirms its concrete intention to evaluate a return to the beef business in Paraguay, after announcing its entry into the poultry sector with the purchase of Pollos Amanecer.
According to information obtained by Valor Agro, JBS requested technical documentation and official records of the industrial unit before carrying out the visit.
Currently, the Frigonorte plant is operated by Frigorífico Concepción under a service contract that includes a key clause: if the owner receives a purchase offer and the operating company does not wish to match it, the plant may be sold freely.
