The Brazilian Meatpackers Association (Abrafrigo) stated that the “joint effort of the public and private sectors” made it possible to remove the additional 40% tariff that the United States had imposed on Brazilian products, including beef.
In a statement, the association highlighted the work of diplomats and technical teams involved: “We praise the precise and tireless work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa). The actions of these agencies were decisive in providing U.S. authorities with clear, robust, and decisive information, enabling a correct assessment and leading to the reversal of the measure.”
According to Abrafrigo, the carne bovina industry and Brazilian producers “fully resume their exports to one of the most relevant and demanding markets in the world.”
