Prices for the last Hilton rump & loin deals closed during the last week strengthened again and are nearing the highs reached at the end of April. Import market sources reported purchases from Argentina in a range of US$/t 17,600–17,850 FOB for Hilton, while this week several Argentine plants were asking US$/t 18,000 for new loads. A trader explained that one factor adding pressure to the market is that in week 35 there will be no available vessels, so that beef will be pushed into weeks 36 and 37. For rib eye, sources cited references of US$/t 18,200–18,500 FOB, US$/t 8,800 for topside, and US$/t 7,700 for flat and knuckle.
