In February, the value generated by selling all products from a Type Steer 2.0 after industrial processing was US$1,613 per head, 0.4% higher than January’s figure in dollars (+US$6). The indicator rose by 13% compared to the same month last year (+US$183) and reached its highest level since September 2022 (US$1,718).
According to INAC, the value of the Type Steer was driven by an increase in the export basket value, as well as a rise in offal and by-products. In contrast, the value of the carcass allocated to the domestic market and the price of fresh hides both declined.
In February, the value of livestock showed a 2.2% increase, reaching US$1,211 per head. Meanwhile, the Industrial Added Value fell by US$21 to US$402 per head. The percentage share by component was 75% for livestock and 25% for industrial value added.
