Prices for slaughter-ready cattle in Paraguay remain firm, with listed rates of US$3.70/kg carcass weight for standard males and US$3.50 for cows. An intermediary noted that some plants are opening unscheduled slaughter days on Saturdays and even Sundays. As a result, certain deals for feedlot and high-volume lots have been made at US$3.75–3.80/kg.
