The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) has called on the European Commission to suspend imports of Argentine beef following the publication of a study that detected antimicrobial residues and discrepancies in treatment records at the country’s feedlots. The request seeks to extend to Argentina the restrictions imposed on Brazil since September 3 under European requirements governing antimicrobial use in livestock production.
