Another issue drawing the attention of Argentine and Paraguayan operators was the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), scheduled to enter into force on January 1, 2027. One source said some feedlots had as much as 20% of their cattle without the required certification, preventing those animals from being slaughtered for the European market under the new requirements.
