Brazilian live cattle exports are forecast to decline 20% in 2027 to 1 million head, reflecting lower cattle availability associated with the reversal of the livestock cycle, according to the USDA office in Brasilia.
The decline would follow estimated record exports of 1.25 million cattle in 2026. Brazil shipped 743,660 animals in the first seven months of the year, up 30.3% from the same period in 2025.
The Middle East accounted for 98.8% of exports during the period. Türkiye was the leading destination, taking 299,282 head, up 82% year-over-year and representing 40.2% of the total. The Turkish government established a 2026 import quota for 500,000 male feeder cattle.
Morocco ranked second with more than 145,400 animals, up 69.3% from a year earlier and accounting for 19.6% of total exports.
Pará remained the leading exporting state, accounting for 52.9% of export revenue, followed by Rio Grande do Sul with 24.9%.
