Australian cattle prices rose sharply over the past week, driven by rainfall, tighter supply and stronger competition from restockers.
The Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) increased by 29 Australian cents per kg carcass weight, exceeding A$ 10 for the third time this year, Beef Central reported. At the current exchange rate, that is more than US$ 7 per kg carcass weight.
