In the first half year, the output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry was 50.50 million tons, up by 4.3% year on year.
Of this total, the output of pork grew by 3.3% and poultry grew by 9.4%. Beef and mutton dropped by 1.0% and 3.9% respectively, informed pig333, based in National Bureau of Statistics of China data.
At the end of the second quarter, the number of pigs registered in stock was 424.91 million, up by 0.1% year on year; and 372.46 million pigs were slaughtered, up by 1.7% in the first half of the year.
