Brazilian beef exports to the Philippines increased 34.6% in the first half of the year to 35,900 tons, generating revenue of US$ 162.4 million, up 38.9% year on year.
Abiec projects annual shipments at between 80,000 and 96,000 tons, supported by the country’s economic growth and increased purchasing power, particularly among younger consumers. Brazil accounted for 52.2% of total Philippine beef imports in the first half of the year.
The growth also reflects the opening of the Philippine market to Brazilian bone-in and boneless beef, which was completed in April this year. Julio Ramos, Abiec’s director of Strategic Affairs, highlighted rising beef consumption among young Filipino consumers as one of the drivers of demand.
Beyond beef, Brazilian pork and poultry exports to the Philippines increased by around 30% and 15%, respectively, in 2026. Gabriel Morelli Ribeiro of ABPA said there are opportunities to expand distribution beyond metropolitan Manila and bring Brazilian companies closer to importers in other cities across the archipelago.
